With the Angler Elite, they’ve clearly focused on designing a board specifically for anglers who want comfort, durability, a higher weight capacity and performance all in one package.
This paddle board is thoughtfully designed and establishes a nice balance between stability and paddling efficiency while still offering enough features to satisfy serious anglers.
In this review we take a deep dive into everything that makes the Glide Angler Elite stand out.
We’ll take a look at:
- performance
- stability
- build quality
- storage
- fishing features
- portability
- and whether it’s actually worth the price tag.
First Impressions of the Glide Angler Elite

The first thing that stands out about the Glide Angler Elite is how refined everything feels.
Some fishing paddle boards tend to look overly bulky or cluttered with accessories, to the point where it can be cumbersome just getting the equipment to the water.
However the Angler Elite manages to keep a clean, streamlined design while still packing in tons of functionality and keeping it easy to transport.
The board feels premium right out of the box.
The materials are thick and durable, the deck pad is soft and comfortable, and the overall construction gives you confidence that this SUP was built to last.

Even before getting on the water, you can tell Glide paid attention to the details and they’ve loaded their package with quality accessories that are included in the price.
On the board you’ll find:
- Fishing-specific rigging
- Scotty-style mounting options
- Large bungee cargo storage areas
- Extra-wide stable platform
- Comfortable grooved EVA deck pad
- Multiple padded carry handles – nose, tail and center
- High-quality fin setup
- 20 stainless steel D-rings
- Side canvas loops for securing an anchor
Included in the package is:
- 11’x36″ SUP
- Premium wheeled backpack
- 2 rod holders
- 3 removable fins
- 10′ coiled SUP leash
- AirThrone kayak seat
- 3-piece adjustable SUP paddle
- Kayak blade attachment
- Dual Action Hand Pump
- Repair kit
Everything on the board and each accessory has a purpose to help create the best fishing experience possible.
Glide Angler Elite Specs
While specs never tell the whole story, they do help paint a picture of what this board is designed to do.
The Angler Elite specifications include:
- Length: 11’
- Width: 36″
- Thickness: 6″
- Weight: 23 lbs
- Weight Capacity: 500 lbs
- Volume: 400L
- Experience Level: Beginner +
Kayak Package Included

Included in the Angler Elite package is the AirThrone kayak seat as well as a kayak blade attachment.
The kayak seat inflates in seconds and secures to the centre D-rings on the board. The straps on the seat are adjustable so you can adjust the backrest to be as rigid as you need.
The back of the seat has a pocket for securing small items as well as a fabric daisy chain link that can be used for securing gear.

The seat is very comfortable and provides surprisingly good back support. It’s one of the better inflatable kayak seats we have tried on a paddle board.
The kayak blade secures to the SUP paddle and can be switched out when needed.
Paddling this SUP in kayak-mode feels different than what we are used to as the kayak seat sits you up higher than many other SUP seats.
This is not a negative however as it felt extremely comfortable and also kept us off the deck pad that can sometimes get wet.
The kayak package adds an extra layer of comfort and versatility to this fishing SUP that is a real bonus.
Stability: One Of The Most Stable Fishing SUP’s In This Size Category

If you ask any angler what is the most important feature in a fishing paddle board, they are likely going to say stability.
Nobody wants to feel tippy while trying to cast, change lures, or land a fish. The Glide Angler Elite absolutely shines here.
This board feels solid. Even when shifting your weight around or standing sideways, the board remains impressively stable.
Total Beginner? No Problem.
Regardless of your skill level this board inspires confidence and beginners won’t need to constantly worry about finding balance.
A paddle board is always going to feel the most stable on calm water. However with the extra width and solid construction that this board provides you won’t have any trouble even in wind and mild chop.
One thing I particularly liked was how predictable the board felt. Regardless of the situation the Glide Angler Elite stayed reliable and sturdy. This helps to make the whole experience feel easy.
That added predictability makes a huge difference, especially for new paddlers.
👉Translation: With its wide design and rigid construction, the Glide Angler Elite offers outstanding stability. That stability makes fishing easy and comfortable for both beginners and experienced paddlers.
Paddling Performance: Surprisingly Efficient for a Fishing Board

Many fishing SUPs sacrifice paddling performance in favor of maximum stability.
The problem is that ultra-wide boards can become slow with lots of side to side yaw movement, and exhausting to paddle over longer distances.
However even with its generous width, the board glides efficiently through the water and tracks nicely for a fishing-oriented design.
It’s obviously not designed to compete with touring boards for speed, but it also never feels frustratingly sluggish.
This balance is one of the Angler Elite’s biggest strengths.

The 11′ length and rigid design helps improve glide, while the fin setup keeps the board moving in a straight line.
Even during longer paddling sessions the Angler Elite remained comfortable and manageable throughout the day.
👉Translation: For anglers who want both stability and decent paddling performance, this board hits a sweet spot.
3 Removable Fins

The tri-fin system is a typical setup for an all-around cruiser such as a fishing SUP.
The two smaller side fins very easily click into the fin boxes and the larger dolphin style fin screws in to the main US fin box with a bolt and screw.

This fin system helps to keep the board tracking straight and easy to turn.
The US fin box is the most popular style of fin box for a paddle board and it allows you to interchange the main fin if needed very easily.
Fishing Features That Actually Make Sense

One thing that many will appreciate about the Glide Angler Elite is that the fishing features feel practical rather than gimmicky.
Some brands overload fishing SUPs with unnecessary accessories that add clutter without improving the experience. Glide kept things functional and useful.
Key fishing-friendly features include:
Accessory Mounts

There are integrated front and rear mounting points for attaching rod holders, fish finders, cameras, and other gear. Two rod holders are included in the package.

This flexibility allows anglers to customize the setup depending on their needs and the type of fishing they’re doing.
Large Deck Space
At 11′ long and 36″ wide at the centre the spacious deck gives you plenty of room for tackle boxes, coolers, dry bags, and fishing equipment without feeling cramped.
Side Fabric Loops

On both rear side rails you’ll find a fabric loop that can be used to secure a sand spear style anchor (also sometimes called sand spike or stakeout pole anchor system).
This type of anchor is commonly used with paddle boards for anchoring in shallow fishing spots.
Comfortable Standing Platform

The smooth lined EVA deck pad isn’t super long but it covers enough of the board to provide ample space for easy maneuvers and movements.
It provides decent grip while remaining soft and comfortable whether standing or kneeling.
This may sound minor, but comfort matters a lot after several hours on the water and a good deck pad can make a big difference.
Cargo Storage

Both the large 6-point front bungee and rear 4-point bungee storage areas are genuinely useful and large enough for real gear.

Without feeling overloaded you will easily be able to carry:
- Tackle bag
- Small to medium size cooler
- Dry bag
- Extra layers
- Water bottle
- Fishing net
Numerous Stainless Steel D-rings

There are 20 D-rings in total that can be used as tie-down points to secure gear.
- 6 are being used with the front nose bungee system
- 4 are with the rear bungees
- There are 4 on each side of the board along the deck pad
- Plus one more at the handle on the tail as well as one under the nose that can be used to secure the board or for towing.
With all these tie down points there are endless possibilities for customizing this stand up paddleboard and securing accessories or gear.
Build Quality and Construction

The board has a max air capacity of 25 PSI. You’ll never need to inflate it that high however because it feels extremely rigid once inflated properly to 12-15 PSI.
That rigidity matters because cheaper inflatable fishing SUPs often flex under heavier loads, which negatively affects both stability and paddling performance.
The Angler Elite stays impressively stiff even with substantial gear onboard. This is because it is constructed with a cross-woven drop-stitch PVC core and premium 1300D fusion outer later.
As a result, this advanced type of construction creates an even stiffer and more responsive board, which is exactly what you want when carrying heavier loads and tackling open-water conditions.
Besides the cross-woven drop stitch core, other construction highlights include:
- Triple layer heat fused rails
- Thick PVC layers
- ThermosFuse welded seams
- High-quality traction pad
Even small details like the reinforced nose, tail and centre handles, 20 stainless steel D-rings, and mounting points feel robust and secure.
👉Translation: For anglers planning frequent use, durability is a major selling point here as this board is built to last.
Inflatable vs Hard Fishing Paddle Boards

A lot of anglers still wonder whether inflatable fishing SUPs can truly compete with hard boards and it’s a valid question.
Not all fishing SUP’s are created equal and if you’re going to use an inflatable while out fishing you want it to hold up and be dependable.
For this reason I think high-end inflatable SUPs in particular have closed the gap significantly.
The biggest advantages of the inflatable design include:
Easy Transportation
You can fit the entire setup into a vehicle trunk without roof racks. That convenience alone is huge.
Easier Storage
Hard boards require significant storage space, while the Angler Elite can be packed away neatly in the wheeled backpack when not in use.
Durability Around Docks and Shorelines
Inflatables are surprisingly forgiving when bumping into rocks, docks, or shallow areas.
Travel-Friendly
You can easily take the board on road trips, camping adventures, or vacations.
For many anglers, the portability benefits outweigh the slight performance advantages hard boards may still offer.
👉Translation: The Glide Angler Elite demonstrates how modern inflatable fishing paddle boards can rival hard boards while offering significant advantages.
Who Is the Glide Angler Elite Best Suited For?
This board works well for quite a wide range of paddlers including:
- Beginner anglers & riders will feel less intimidated with the stable design.
- Experienced anglers & riders will appreciate the board’s efficiency and thoughtful fishing layout.
- Larger paddlers will love the high weight capacity and wide platform.
- Multi-purpose users will enjoy the different functionalities that this SUP offers.
The versatility that this package offers adds significant value and functionality.
Pros: Here’s What We Liked Most About the Glide Angler Elite
Let’s take a look at a quick summary of the pros that the Glide Angler Elite fishing inflatable SUP offers:
Excellent Stability Without Feeling Excessively Slow
Many fishing SUPs are stable but painfully sluggish. The Angler Elite manages to remain stable while still paddling efficiently.
Premium Construction
The construction is top notch. Durability is not an issue here.
Comfortable for Long Sessions
The deck pad, layout, and overall design make full-day trips enjoyable.
Smart Fishing Features
The accessory mounting systems and storage layout are practical and easy to use.
High Weight Capacity
With a board that can easily hold up to 500 lbs, you won’t ever have to worry about loading up with too much weight.
Portability
Being able to pack everything into a wheeled backpack remains one of the biggest benefits of inflatable SUPs.
Cons: Minor Drawbacks
No paddle board is perfect, and it’s important to be aware of the minor downsides as well so you can decide if the package is right for you.
Price Tag
This is not a budget fishing SUP but it also isn’t overpriced for what you get. The quality largely justifies the cost.
Slightly Heavier Than Basic SUPs
Glide has managed to keep the weight of this larger board extremely low at only 23 lbs. However once you add on your fishing gear and accessories the weight does increase.
Most fishing paddle boards are heavier by nature but with that said this is one of the lighter fishing SUP’s that we have tried and still found it very easy to manage.
Not Built for Speed
While the board paddles well for its size, performance-oriented paddlers looking for more speed may prefer a touring-style SUP.
This board is built to handle a lot of weight. If you have other priorities in mind for your fishing SUP Glide has a couple other great fishing paddle board options available.
Is the Glide Angler Elite Worth It?
For anglers who plan to spend serious time on the water, the Glide Angler Elite absolutely feels worth the investment.
You’re paying for:
- Better stability
- Higher-quality construction
- Improved durability
- Better paddling performance
- Premium materials
- Long-term reliability
- As well as a very versatile and functional package
The board feels like a genuine upgrade over entry-level fishing SUPs rather than just another variation of the same concept.
Final Verdict
The Glide Angler Elite delivers exactly what many anglers are looking for: outstanding stability, premium construction, smart fishing features, versatility and decent paddling performance.
Instead of feeling overly bulky or awkward, the board remains enjoyable to paddle while still providing the stable platform anglers need.
It’s priced right for its category, especially considering it comes with a full accessory package and the 5 year warranty is a big plus.
If you need a fishing inflatable SUP that can handle a lot of weight and last for years to come the Angler Elite package is a clear winner.
