Wild Rye Parker Action Dress Review

I’ve worn a dress on my SUP once before just for the fun of it but it was not practical at all. However this Parker Action Dress takes SUP style and function to a whole other level.

It’s not only comfortable but it’s airy and breathable so I felt really cool even when paddling in the heat. It’s moisture wicking and quick-drying so I never felt wet and uncomfortable. The built in bra provided excellent support and the adjustable straps allowed for just the right fit.

This action dress is very versatile. Although my main purpose for this dress was to use while on the water it could easily be used for any type of boating activity as well as hanging at the beach or even hiking.

The stretchy fabric moves softly as your body moves so there are no uncomfortable areas that rub. It’s extremely comfortable when doing activities and working hard.

However I think what I love most about the Parker Action dress is how lightweight it is.

SQUARE NECKLINE

I’m not normally a huge fan of a square neckline on myself but it works with this dress and adds extra support and functionality for any activity.

BUILT-IN BRA

The built-in bra is fairly tight and provides excellent support for just about any activity. It’s nice not having to wear a sports bra and I found the dress to be extra comfortable in the heat with no added layers underneath.

NO BUILT-IN SHORTS

In case you are wondering this is an action dress and definitely not a skort as there are no built-in shorts. The advantage of this is that it feels very breezy and comfortable when wearing on hot days, which I love.

For most activities I found the length of the dress to be just fine. However I decided to try wearing a little pair of seamless shorts underneath to see how that would feel.

The shorts I wore didn’t show and the dress fit overtop of them perfectly. With the shorts I felt a little more comfortably when I was bending over and squatting while getting my board inflated and ready for the water.

For reference I am 5’8″ tall and wearing a size 4. If you are a little shorter than I am the dress will fit a little longer.

ADJUSTABLE STRAPS

The two adjustable straps are wider at the front and criss-cross at the back like a racerback bra.

What I love about this style is that the racerback design disperses weight evenly across the shoulders and doesn’t slip when doing activities like paddleboarding. It’s the perfect design for active workouts.

4-WAY STRETCH FABRIC

The material consists of 85% recycled nylon and 15% spandex. It is slightly compressive without feeling clingy and has a nice 4-way stretch that will feel good on most body types.

I found the fabric to wash up well in cold water and I just hung to dry… or you can tumble dry on low.

CONCLUSION

If you want something a little more stylish and fun to wear while paddle boarding, boating, hiking or hanging at the beach the Parker Action Dress fits the bill.

It is not only functional but super comfortable and practical. You can wear it as is or even layer it with a long sleeve top on cooler days.

I was very pleasantly surprised with how much I loved wearing this sport dress. I would highly recommend for any active woman.
