I review a lot of different paddle boards and rarely anymore does a product really blow my mind.
However the SUPCat10 kind of did. I had never really paddled anything like the SUPCat so it was a lot of fun to try something a little different.
This innovative watercraft is designed for anglers and is fully decked out for fishing with some pretty cool features.
It basically consists of two inflatable paddle boards joined together with an aluminum board and connecting crossbars.
It can be paddled SUP-style standing up or by sitting on the extremely comfortable swivel seat that attaches to the included seat mount.
There is a motor mount that secures to the back of the SUPCat. With a 2.3 hp Honda, you can reach speeds up to 8 mph.
The 4 Scotty Gear Mounts (two at the front and two at the back) allow you to attach rod holders, triple rod holders, anchor locks, sounder mounts, transducer mounts, cutting boards, cup holders, camera mounts and more.
The included easy up and easy down Catwheels allow you to easily pull the SUPCat on your own to and from the water. The wheels can be flipped up when the boat is in the water.
We were eager to try the SUPCat and excited to take it out on the water for the first time to see how it handled.
We found it to be extremely stable even in wind and rough water. We felt comfortable onboard at all times and loved the functionality of it.
The hardest part about the SUPCat was the initial setup. However it’s basically a one-time setup process so once it’s done you don’t have to worry about it again except to inflate the pontoon sides.
VIDEO #1
The short video below shows us stand up paddling the SUPCat10 with our two dogs. This was just a test paddle without the motor to see how well it handled. You can see in the video that although the tracking is not perfect it does move along nicely and is very easy to paddle and turn.
Note: At the 16 sec. mark my dog Jax falls off the board – he was totally ok. He has a habit of testing his balance by standing on the very tip of my paddleboards. Luckily he loves to swim. 🙂

IMPORTANT FEATURES
ALUMINUM FRAME
The aluminum frame is lighter than I expected yet feels very strong. It secures to the front and back crossbars with the included nuts and bolts.
It creates a very stable and secure structure to sit on with the swivel seat and pedestal as well as to support the motor mount.
SCOTTY GEAR MOUNTS
There are 2 Scotty mounts with rod-holders on the front crossbar.
There are also 2 Scotty base mounts at the rear, which can be used for a bunch of different Scotty accessories. Love the versatility that these gear mounts offer.
40” FISH RULER
On each side of the SUPCat pontoons is a 40” fish ruler that can be used to measure you catches.
The fish ruler is a great example of little extras that are included with this watercraft that make it so functional.
PVC CONSTRUCTION
The SUPCat uses tough double layer PVC construction – the same that is used with stand up paddle boards. This type of construction along with the the quadruple overlapping superior glued seams creates an extra rigid and durable fishing craft.
Each pontoon side is capable of holding up to 15 PSI of air pressure making them extremely rigid when fully inflated.
PADDED 360 DEGREE LOCKING SWIVEL SEAT
The included swivel seat is extremely comfortable! There is padding on the seat and back and we found it to have decent back support.
It swivels 360 degrees all the way around and has a leaver that allows you to lock it in a fixed position.
With the swivel seat it is easy to turn around and reach the motor or your fishing gear and focus on catching fish at any angle.
MOTOR MOUNT
The back motor mount secures with a few nuts and bolts. Sea Eagle offers a couple package option that include motors.
Their 2.3 hp Honda Motor package allows you to reach speeds up to 8 mph and average 30 mpg.
The Watersnake Venom 34 Electric Motor package can cruise around 4 mph.
We found the SUPCat to be far easier to get from point A to B while using a motor. Once you have arrived at your desired location it’s easy and fun to paddle around but much easier to go longer distances when using a trolling motor.
VIDEO #2
In the next video below you can see the SUPCAT in action with a motor. I am using the Watersnake Advance Brushless 70lbs. trolling motor.
TWO ONE-WAY VALVES
Each pontoon side has its own deluxe one-way valve so there are two separate air chambers.
When inflating the boards take off the valve cap, push the pin down and twist so that it is in the ‘up’ position. No air will escape while the pin is popped up.
For deflating the boards remove the valve cap, push the pin down and twist so that it is in the ‘down’ position. This will allow the air to escape.
BLACK FABRIC FLOOR
The black fabric floor slides under the frame and is held secure by 4-clip-on bungee straps to the D-rings on the boards.
We did find that the fabric floor collected a bit of water but it is ideal for preventing anything from falling through the middle of the SUPCat.
The fabric floor also prevents spray from shooting up through the middle of the watercraft.
16 D-RINGS
There are 2 stainless steel D-rings at the front and 1 at the back of each pontoon.
There are also 2 about 3/4 of the way back in front of the rear crossbar on each pontoon.
Then you will find one on each side of the front of the pontoons and two on each side at the rear pontoons.
With all these D-rings there are lots of options for securing a cooler, tackle box or even a gas tank.
CATWHEELS
The Easy Up and Easy Down Catwheels are included with the Pro Package, with the Honda Motor Package or with the Ultimate Package. I would highly recommend these if you will be out fishing on your own.
They clip in to the back crossbar and make it easy for one person to pull the SUPCat to and from the water.
When you reach the water you simply unclip the wheels and clip them back in the flipped up position.
TRACTION PAD
On both pontoon sides is an evergrip EVA footpad that allows you to comfortably grip the boards when standing.
The traction pad stretches from the front crossbar to just behind the seat and helps with grip and stability when standing and casting.
The SUPCat is extremely stable and we think that most people will feel very comfortable standing on these boards whether you are a beginner or experienced paddler.
FRONT & BACK CARRY HANDLES
Each pontoon side has a durable carry handle at the front as well as at the back.
With the wheels attached you can use the front carry handles to pull the SUPCat yourself.
With two people you can each take an end and easily carry the SUPCat to the water.
CARRY BAG
The nylon carry bag that comes with this package fits the crossbars and inflatable pontoons.
When the package arrives the two pontoon sides with crossbars are folded in the bag. The dimensions of the bag when fully loaded are 50″ long x 20″ wide x 7″ thick.
Once you attach the aluminum board and seat pedestal it will no longer fit in the bag.
So unless you plan to travel with the SUPCat you will likely not use the bag once you have fully assembled the SUPCat unless you plan to take it apart each time (which isn’t likely).
SETUP
Initial setup takes a bit of time and patience and I highly recommend doing the majority of it at home before you ever get to the water.
All nuts and bolts are supplied in the package. The only thing you will need is a couple of wrenches.
The SUPCat comes with good instructions that includes pictures and write ups. Follow them exactly and you’ll have no problem.
Once all parts are setup properly and secured you will then need to inflate the two pontoon sides with either the included hand pump or with a good electric pump.
The sides can be inflated up to 15 PSI creating very rigid pontoons. The hand pump includes a pressure gauge that allows you to watch your progression and stop at the right PSI level.
With the hand pump it will take approximately 6-7 minutes to inflate each side – Could be a little faster or slower depending on your pumping speed.
If you want to make life a whole lot easier and save your energy for the water, grab one of the Sea Eagle electric pumps to do the job for you.
This is the electric pump I use most often and it works great.
Once inflated you can secure your seat, attach the wheels, attach the paddle and you’re set.
Once you have done the initial setup of all the parts the rest of the process only takes about 10-15 min.
After use dry the SUPCat with a towel then deflate the two side air chambers.
It comes with a great carry bag but you may choose not to use it unless traveling if you keep the SUPCat mostly assembled.
PERFORMANCE
Paddling the SUPCat with the SUP paddle that comes with this package is quite easy.
It doesn’t take a lot of effort to move and even though it is much wider than a typical paddle board it still felt comfortable to paddle on each side.
The tracking isn’t the greatest and when out on a windy day we did have to work harder to keep it going straight.
We noticed we could only do a couple paddle strokes on each side before the vessel would start to turn.
However it is still very easy to paddle when both standing and sitting and with a little momentum it propels forward nicely.
We paddled all over a decent size lake and although it took a bit of effort to keep a semi-straight course it was still a lot of fun.
With a motor attached you can quickly get to your destination then use the paddle to move around the location and putter about.
When using a motor the SUPCat glides smoothly and is easy to turn, move forward and reverse. It makes a huge difference in the overall functionality of this watercraft.
COMFORT
The comfort level is 5 out of 5 without a doubt.
The seat provides good padding and support. It swivels from side to side and there is a lever that allows you to lock it in place.
The two pontoon sides create a very stable platform and whether standing or sitting the SUPCat feels solid… Even in choppy water.
There is ample room to stretch out your legs when sitting on the swivel seat and everything is within an arms length and easy to reach.
CARGO SPACE
There is plenty of space up front to secure a large cooler to the D-rings that can easily be accessed from the chair.
There is also space on the pontoon sides and a little behind the seat as well.
We took out our two small dogs a couple of times because we thought they would enjoy the ride and they loved it.
They walked all over the two sides and each found their own comfort spots.
WARRANTY
Sea Eagle has one of the best warranties in the business. All Sea Eagle boats come with a great 3-year warranty and 180-day guarantee.
Basically if you are not happy with your purchase at any time within 180 days from purchase you can return it for a full refund.
BOTTOM LINE
If you love to fish and want to try the latest innovative self propelled light weight fishing vessel that can also be used with a motor and be easily transported in your vehicle the SUPCat is a wicked choice.
Perfect for fishing trips with the family or for going out solo.
We found the SUPCat got a lot of attention while out on the water. Not only does it look great but it is very functional to use, versatile, comfortable for hours on the water and ideal for reaching those pristine hard to get to fishing spots.
If you love to fish and want a versatile watercraft that can go anywhere easily, the SUPCat is a great choice.
