OutdoorMaster Pop Up Beach Tent Review

This OutdoorMaster pop up beach tent is one of my favourite accessories this summer.

So often I am at the beach with my paddle boards in the blaring hot sun with no shade in sight. Not only do I get hot and drained from the sun but my dogs get really hot as well.

With this pop up tent I can set it up in seconds and it gives all of us a UV protected shady area to hang out in for the day.

The tent also packs up small enough that I am able to secure it under the bungees on my SUP so that I can bring it with me to paddling destinations as well, which has been amazing.

If you’re looking for an easy way to provide shade and protection from the elements for yourself and your family while outdoors this Pop Up Beach Tent is awesome.

DIMENSIONS

The tent is a really good size. It easily fits three adults or a family with a couple of kids.  When the front side is unzipped and open it provides quite a bit more space for sitting and sprawling out. The tent dimensions when set up are:

• 53” high x 95” wide x 51” deep

The packaging dimensions are:

• 37” long x 8” wide

WEIGHT

The total weight of the tent is 8.15 pounds (3.6 kg). It comes with a shoulder strap and is really easy to carry.

SETUP

I can have this tent setup in about one minute. There is truly no assembly required, it simply pops up and locks into place.

When you take the tent out of the bag, unfold the bottom legs gently. You’ll see two cords at the top of the tent. You just pull both cords to make the tent pop up.

It takes a bit of effort to pull them.  I found it easier the second time around once I knew what I was doing.

Once it is raised tie a knot with the cords to prevent the tent from closing.

It has built in sand bags to hold it down plus it comes with stakes if you want to secure it even more. I often don’t bother with the stakes but if it’s windy at all you’ll want to use them.

INSTRUCTIONS

The instructions are attached to the inside of the storage bag. The instructions show you exactly how to setup the tent and how to pack it back up.

The instructions are clear and easy to follow. The tent is easy to put down when you are down for the day.  You just push on the tabs where it says push down (see picture below), then fold the legs back up.

The trickier part is folding the tent together so that it fits back inside the carry bag.  However the instructions give detailed steps on the best way to do that.

UV PROTECTED

The tent offers full UPF 50+ protection, which I thought was amazing.

To have a space where you can escape the hot sun and harsh UV rays while outside is so worth it.

I’ve also found it particularly great when the wind picks up or if it starts to cloud over and cool off. It provides a nice shelter to escape the elements.

SAND BAGS & STAKES

You can use the tent on all different surfaces.

It comes with built-in sand bags, which I have found to be mostly all I need.

There are 4 plastic stakes included in the package however if you need the added reinforcement.

BUILT-IN ZIPPERED DOOR

One of the other things that I really love with this tent is the built-in zippered door.

I see a ton of pop up beach tents when I’m at the water and many of them do not have a door, just an open space to enter.

I love that you can zip the door closed on this one.  All three windows also have attached covers that can be hooked on for complete privacy.

That way you can use it if you need to get changed after a day at the water.

BOTTOM LINE

Bottom line, I don’t know how I lived without this Pop Up Tent before. I should have gotten one a long time ago.

I have used it a lot already and will be getting a ton of use out of it, whether paddle boarding at the beach or even just hanging out at a park.

Especially right now with everything going on with COVID, it’s nice to be able to tuck away into a private space and safely social distance myself from others who are also enjoying the outdoors.
