INFLATE & DEFLATE OPTIONS

With a full charge it can inflate up to four paddle boards to 15 PSI.  That’s more than any other electric pump that I have tried.

TYPE-C CHARGING CABLE

This pump can also be charged with the Type-C charging cable included in the package.

You can fully recharge the pump in only 2 hours if you have a 45W fast charger.  If you don’t have one of these I would highly recommend getting one.

POWER BANK

Another really cool feature is that the pump itself has a USB port so you can use the pump as a power bank to power up other devices.

I love this feature for camping but I actually used it during a power outage a few weeks ago to charge my phone.  It was brilliant!

ACTIVE COOLING SYSTEM

Similar to the previous Shark 2 model, the Shark 3 has an active cooling system.  The patented cooling system kicks in when the pump gets hot and allows for up to 30 minutes of continuous inflation.

This is a very important feature as many electric pumps that I have tried in the past have over heated when trying to inflate more than one board.

The Shark patented cooling system works really well and it makes this pump ideal for those who need to inflate multiple board.

I’ve tried a LOT of electric pumps over the years with my inflatable paddle boards and in my opinion this cooling system is a game changer and really makes the Outdoormaster pumps stand out from the rest.

3 SMART MODES

There are three memory functions to choose from on the display:

1. SUP – for use with inflatable stand up paddle boards
2. MAT – for use with air mattresses or inflatable beds
3. KITE – for use with kites for kite boarding

For all of us paddleboarders we will choose SUP mode.  Once the mode is set you don’t need to set it again, the pump will remember your choice.

DIGITAL DISPLAY

The large digital display makes it easy to monitor the progress as the inflation pressure rises.

One thing I noticed is that the digital display is hard to read when the sun is shining on it.

If in the sunshine you may need to shade the display with your hand in order to see it properly.

AUTO SHUT-OFF

Once you set your PSI level you don’t need to set it again unless you want to change it.

There’s no need to pay attention to the inflation progress as the pump will automatically shut off once it reaches the set PSI level.

This gives you the peace of mind to do other things while the pump does the work for you and there is no risk of over inflating your board.

I have been using the Outdoormaster electric pumps for several years now and I have never had the auto-shutoff malfunction nor have I ever heard of any issues with it.  It just works great all the time.

EASY CARRY HANDLE

Although this pump does not come with a storage bag, it does have acarry handle that makes it very easy to transport.

LITTLE SUCTION FEET

Turn the pump over and you’ll find four little suction feet that help to keep the pump steady and in place when it is in use.

The feet also keep it slightly raised off the ground as well.

8 NOZZLES

Personally my main use for this pump is to inflate my paddle boards.

However with the 8 different nozzles that come in the package it is great for many different uses including with inflatable kayaks or other boats, kites, air mattresses, inflatable tents and more.

So if you have other types of inflatables this pump will work for most of them.

HOW NOISY IS IT?

This is an excellent question as 12V electric pumps can be quite noisy.

Although you are never going to find an electric SUP pump that is whisper quiet, I will say that the Shark 3 is by far the least noisy pump I have tried to date.

TROUBLESHOOTING TIP

After many years of experience using the Outdoormaster electric pumps to inflate my paddle boards I have a quick tip that many may find helpful.

Included in the package with the 8 different nozzles are 4 little rubber gaskets.

The gaskets are the white rubber rings on the nozzles.

If you find that the H3 nozzle won’t securely connect to the valve on your paddle board don’t panic.

Just switch the gasket to one of a different size.  I have never had a single board not work with the Shark pumps.  It is always a matter of just switching to a different size gasket in order to get a secure fit.

BOTTOM LINE

Electric SUP pumps have sure come a long way since I first started paddle boarding 15 years ago.

If you want to invest in a really good versatile electric pump for your inflatable stand up paddle board it doesn’t get much better than the Shark 3.

This pump will get you on the water faster and for that alone I love this pump.

The Shark 3 is quieter than most even with the extra power, it works fast and efficiently, has an integrated rechargeable battery and an easy to use carry handle to transport it anywhere.

I have been very impressed with it’s performance and I know that I will definitely be getting a ton of use out of it.
